Day 7 in Tanzania

By: Amy & Josh

This morning we woke up and packed our bags ready for an overnight stay in a small town called Magugu. We drove 3 hours west from Arusha to an Insane 30°c heat. We stopped at a coffee plantation where we saw some monkeys on a roof. We also stopped for a toilet break in a squatter and purchased bags of peanuts from a local for 500 shillings (~NZD$0.30) – Tom Batts felt the need to buy ten.

The African views were as expected on the way to Magugu

We were then hosted for lunch by the pastor of the local church; Pastor Eleita and his wife Neymar. They served us spaghetti and banana curry alongside warm hospitality. Tanzanians show love and hospitality by ensuring their guests are well fed even though it is a struggle for food in their region sometimes.

We then broke off into groups and joined up with some locals for our final treasure hunt. During this, we experienced many things such as pains & tumours disappering, physical disabilities healed, people coming to Christ furthermore countless people were blessed.

We then went to dinner at a local restaurant where there were only three options. There was a choice between a hot chip omelette, pinau (a local dish) and meat & rice. We also drank Stoney Tangawizi which is like the L&P of Tanzania (a spicy ginger beer). After dinner we then arrived back to the guest house which we then cracked open a cold (non-alcholic) one with the boiiis.
