Day 9 in Tanzania

Written by Thomas Garner

Monday morning… so good! Our day started off at 6:30 am where we were all required to get ready for the two Land Rovers awaiting out front. These capable 4x4s prepared to take us to the well renound Sarengetti national park. Once we arrived we signed our lives away and set off capturing moments and memories with our cameras!

The team raring to go!

Zoos are cool but nothing can compare to seeing these majestic animal in their natural habitat. There are no fences in the park so animals are allowed to enter or leave the grounds whenever they please. This ensured that the wildlife we were seeing was the real deal. The animals consisted of the African classics such as Zebras, Gazelles, Elephants, Giraffes … even Lions and the very very rare Cheetah!!!

Some highlights were of course the baby Elephants, the sighting of the Cheetah and almost having to witness the death of a zebra by a lioness before our very eyes!!! Nothing can top the experience and I’m sure the memories and banter made along the way will stick with me and other members of the short term mission trip team for a long time!

We didn’t have any words of knowledge for the animals but we did give our blessings and prayer to our Tanzanian driver Isaac who did an amazing job getting us up close to some of Gods greatest master pieces !!
